Pharmacology: Vice President

Hello everyone, my name is Aaron, I’m in third year and I am running for the position of Vice President in the Pharmacology Society.

I first realised my passion for Pharmacology during pre-clinical years, which motivated me to join a leading pharmacy chain as an Assistant Pharmacist. Two years later, I still thoroughly enjoy my role, and my experiences thus far fuels my desire to further endorse this specialty. Having adopted numerous leadership roles in the past, I appreciate the significance of fostering a culture that boasts learning, networking and an extensive range of opportunities for all. These experiences have equipped me with several attributes, notably effective communication, delegation and decisiveness, all of which have been instrumental in the successes of events I’ve previously helped facilitate, including a conference recently held by another society. Above all, I am a passionate advocator for teamwork, and I would certainly welcome and assist with the cultivation of ideas shared by my fellow colleagues. Meanwhile, as vice president, I would aim to implement:

  1. A lecture series delving into the key concepts explored in pre-clinical and clinical years, in line with central teaching and the UKMLA.
  2. Guest talks from professionals that cover a vast range of interests and sub-specialties
  3. Opportunities to network and undertake research and/or participate in competitions

I hope to utilise this privileged role to promote Pharmacology Society as a community that is enticing, highly informative and undoubtedly enjoyable for all members. Thank you for reading my manifesto :)
