Ashrith Agastyaraju
Namaskarams all!
I am Ashrith and I am running for Hindu Soc's Sanskaar Coordinator. From a young age, I've always been fond of celebrating every festival: the bhajans, learning about our Itihāsas, and of course the food!
But most importantly, imbibing a sense of community is what our festivals are all about. A strong community amplifies everything that makes a festival what it is.
This year I thoroughly enjoyed Garba and the Shivarathri bhajan. As your Sanskaar Coordinator, I will do my level best (God-willing) to make the events more insightful and even more fun! Most importantly, I want to ensure that learning about our Sanskaar doesn't become a chore, rather a quest into learning more about who we truly are.
Here's the plan:
- Hold weekly bhajans and introduce new events like Kite flying (for makar sankranti) and Ram Aarti
- Expand intellectual discussions like Think out loud. Make these debates even more interactive and have more student-led ones, so that everyone learns more whilst still having banter with your mates.
- Continue collaborating with KCsoc and get more collaborations with external organisations
- Increase collaboration with other Hsocs so that we can learn how to improve our own events (we gotta lock in, ucl hsoc is active)
My experience in organization paired with my spiritual knowledge from KCsoc makes me well suited for this role. I am always willing to listen to feedback from the committee and will work hard to promote Sanātanī values!
Jai Sree Ram!
