What we do makes up who we are, and as we can chose what we do, we can chose who we become. As activities manager I aim to motivate people to become who they want to be by providing various opportunities to do so.

Firstly, I would organize inspirational events; this includes professional talks, inter-year advice sessions, and better contact with the IDE students to show students what possibilities exist for them. This way I hope to uplift and motivate students to chase their dreams, as sometimes it's easy to lose sight of why we came here.

Secondly, I would have more interactive socials (like games nights, treasure hunts and pub crawls), at more convinent times for all year groups, helping us meet one another and form better connections.

Thirdly, I would promote academic events & workshops, and improve their quality by improving inter-society cohesion (with Art Soc, Robotics, EEE...), this way everyone gets the chance to explore various avenues and define what Des Eng means to them.

Lastly, I would improve industrial links, by speaking to alumni and other fellows in industry, helping 3rd year students with their applications for their placement year...

All I hope to do as activities manager is to improve the quality of this course by providing opportunities to students so they can excell in whichever part of 'Design Engineering' that they wish to...
