Paediatrics: Conference Chair

Hi everyone, I’m Rachael, and I’m running for the role of Paediatrics Conference Lead!

My passion for paediatrics has grown through my experiences working with children and witnessing the difference we can make in their lives. Like volunteering with playteam or with my church in the kids section.

As Vice Chair of ICSM RAG, I’ve developed strong leadership and organisational abilities, managing multiple projects and collaborating with diverse teams. My work as a choreographer for the ICSM Fashion Show has sharpened my creativity and attention to detail, ensuring events run smoothly and are engaging for participants. Additionally, being a part of Paediatric Society Conference subcommittee has given me a deeper understanding of what makes an impactful and inclusive event, allowing me to connect with others and foster a welcoming atmosphere.

My Aims:

Enhance popular sessions like ‘Life as a Paediatrician’ for its honest insights into balancing career and family.
Strengthen ‘Getting Involved with Research’ sessions with practical guidance and inspiration.
Promote inclusivity by featuring diverse speakers and perspectives to make the conference welcoming to all, including those who may not traditionally see themselves in paediatrics.

My goal is to deliver a conference that not only provides practical knowledge and inspiration but also challenges stereotypes and makes paediatrics accessible and exciting to all students.
