In the last four years, I ran my high school's eSports team, leading us to win the state championship 5 seasons in a row in League of Legends in the United States. During this, I managed the team and organized events within the school and with outside organizations to spread awareness of our club. In addition, I played professionally in Tier 2 North American Valorant, leading and managing teams to compete at the highest level.
With this experience, I aim to create more opportunities for our teams to compete online and in person against other universities. This allows our club to engage more with the respective eSports societies in the UK and build stronger relationships (and maybe rivalries). In addition, I would like to continue the relations that our club has with other Imperial clubs, such as AnimeSoc, giving us more reach to new prospective members.
Overall, I want to allow our club to experience the exhilaration of playing matches with support similar to sports clubs. I truly believe that eSports is very similar to sports and deserves similar recognition, and I hope to give our members the experience of exploring the true side of competitive video games.
