Simi Adewale
Hi, my name’s Simi and I would love to be your education officer this year!
Being in the committee of Psychsoc this year has really strengthened my interest in psychiatry and I would love to take this further in the next academic year.
Over the past year I have been involved in psychiatry based research, including systematic reviews and literature searches. Also, as the MedEd early years co-ordinator, I’m directly involved in providing high quality teaching and resources for students, organised the second year CPA mocks and have even launched MedED’s first anatomy teaching event.
This previous experience, along with that I acquire whilst undertaking the Neuroscience and mental health Bsc, will equip me to enhance journal clubs, tutorials, and mock exams, making psychiatry education more engaging and accessible.
My Aims for this year:
✅ Journal Club – Continue the “Psychiatry Research Spotlight” with key paper summaries, guest speakers, and discussions about research involvement.
✅ Tutorials – Expand student-led teaching with BRS psychiatry tutorials
✅ Mocks – Build a psychiatry question bank, and hold targeted revision sessions to boost exam confidence.
If elected, I will ensure psychiatry education is engaging, practical, and accessible to all students. I look forward to being your new Education officer!
Simi :)
