Praveen Kathirvasan
Hey everyone! I am excited to run for President of MedTech, having previously served as both Treasurer and Promotions Lead.
Next year brings an exciting opportunity to relaunch our annual conference and if elected, I am keen to return it to South Kensington. Having previously worked with the candidates for next year’s committee, I will work with our committee to plan a busy Term 1 schedule, culminating in our flagship conference in Term 2. By getting a subcommittee involved early on, we can host workshops right from the start of the year. Having recently collaborated on a startup with Barts and Microsoft this year, I would also love to get them involved in these workshops.
As treasurer, I learnt a lot about the documentation that goes on behind our events. From interfacing with Union about risk assessments and contracts, to designing conference promotions, I would love to continue developing our society. As President of Imperial’s Tamil Society, I collaborated with my committee on one of Imperial’s largest student-led showcase events, raising over £50,000 in ticket revenue.
Society Priorities:
- Kick-start our annual in-person flagship conference.
- Establish a subcommittee early in the year to organise workshops.
- Deliver a busy calendar of workshop events throughout Term 1 to keep members and freshers engaged.
