Prachur Khandelwal

Dear Cardiovascular Society Members,

My name is Prachur Khandelwal, and I am running for the role of Head of Events. Other than my strong passion for cardiovascular medicine, here are a few reasons why you should vote for me as your next head of events.

1. Previous Leadership Experience: Having served as a general executive for a surgical society and president of the Indian Society (where I organised several events with 300+ attendees), I believe I have further developed the organisational skills required to undertake this responsibility. This means that I would be able to successfully ensure a smooth-running operation that would help provide several informative events.
2. Commitment to education: Having previously struggled to find research myself, I believe in making high-quality learning opportunities accessible to all students, fostering engagement with experts and peers alike. Thus, I would recruit speakers who are interested in taking on medical students for their projects or would be able to link the students with others who think the same and also try to create a mentorship program.
3. Innovative Ideas: I have several innovative ideas for future events as in the past, other than the conference, there have not been too many events. However, I believe that gaining more exposure to the field is essential regardless of whether you have already decided to do cardiology or are just keen on exploring it.

Based on these three reasons, I hope you vote for me as your head of events!
