Rupesh Chelliah

Namaste!

My name is Rupesh, and I am running to be your Sewa Co-ordinator.

Sewa is not just Service, it means selfless service. As one of the largest societies at Imperial, through Sewa we can create a large positive impact on the lives of many.

I wish to become your Sewa Co-ordinator as I believe I can work to uniting us for this prupose through my strengths such as communication and leadership, gained from being Head Boy and sports team captain. Locally, I’ve participated in weekly Food collection for the Food Bank and this was an experience which has inspired me and I look to take inspiration from it to help me in my role.

Sewa can also act as an opportunity for us to come together, socialise, have fun,learn and practice our values and beliefs together . This can be achieved through events like Mandir visits or visiting schools or care homes, where we can volunteer and help , whilst also having a memorable time with which we build strong friendships with each other.

I also plan on large scale Sewa events like quiz and games nights, workshops and festival celebrations through which we raise money, along with more dynamic Sewa themed events like a sponsored walks and runs.

Our Hindu Community is large at Imperial, and I believe I can Co-ordinate our collective Sewa effort on a consistent basis , enabling us to create an amazing impact, not only in Imperial, but to the society as a whole.
