As someone who has experienced the joys of several ICUMS events, including meeting some of my closest friends in Imperial and reliving some nostalgic memories of home, I hope that all members will be able to reap the same benefits as I did. Proposed Initiatives
- Events Announcement Chat – A separate WhatsApp group to prevent event details from getting lost in general chats.
- Interest Forms – Pre-signup forms to estimate turnout and adjust event plans, with priority given to respondents.
- Feedback Polls –WhatsApp polls for event ratings and a Microsoft Form for in-depth feedback if required.
Event Improvements
- Halloween Social – More pumpkin carving kits, prizes, and face painting.
- Christmas Social – Human Christmas Tree Competition.
- Valentine’s Day Gifts – Greater variety of gifts.
- General Socials – Themed dress codes, increased snack budgets, and event schedules released in advance.
New Events
- Freshers’ Board Game Night – Icebreaker event with free Malaysian snacks and boba.
- Subsidized Orchestra & Concert Trips – Expanding beyond theatre.
- Dumpling Making Night – A relaxed, budget-friendly bonding event.
- Escape Room & Pottery Painting Trips – Interactive and creative outings.
Other Initiatives
- Activities/Outings Instagram Post – Monthly recommendations of places to explore in London, with seasonal editions.
- ICUMS Lanyard – A membership perk for easy identification and fostering connections
