Hi everyone! I’m Kai Le, and I’m running to be your Welfare Officer because I genuinely want to make our MSoc feel like a home away from home. Moving abroad is exciting but can also be daunting, and having a strong support system makes all the difference (shoutout to Cendol family!). Whether it’s helping freshers settle in, organizing events that bring us together, or just being someone you can talk to, I want every member to feel welcomed, heard, and supported.
As Welfare Officer, inclusivity will be my priority. You can expect the fun events we’ve had, like the Amazing Race and Potluck, but I also plan to work closely with the Events and Sports Officers, and the Treasurer to introduce new activities like a Family Sports Day and more Pet Café visits, ensuring both your physical and mental well-being are cared for. I’ll also ensure care packages are provided during exam seasons to keep you fueled.
I’m confident in my ability to carry out these plans; at college, I spearheaded welfare events for nearly 600 students and worked with management to implement campus improvements through student feedback. I hope to bring these skills to ICUMS and foster a warm, tight-knit community. Whether you need help adjusting to life in London, are facing challenges, or just want to chat over teh tarik, I’ll always be here to support you. So if you want a Welfare Officer who truly cares, vote for me, and let’s make next year an eventful one!
