Data Science: Head of Corporate Relations

Hello, I’m Rong Quan, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Head of Corporate Relations for the Data Science Society. With a strong background in data science and strong background in industry outreach and event organisation, I am confident of strengthening our corporate relationships and expanding professional opportunities for members. Through my previous role at Advisory Singapore, a non-profit organisation, I have actively engaged with industry professionals, coordinating panel discussions and learning journeys for students to gain real-world insights. Furthermore, I have experience organising alumni homecoming as Secretary-Treasurer in my high school Math and Science Club. These experiences have honed my ability to connect with professionals and foster long-term relationships.

My goals as Head of Corporate Relations include:

Building Industry Partnerships for Data Science Careers: Establishing connections with companies in finance, tech, healthcare, and energy to secure internship opportunities, mentorship programs, and hands-on projects for students in data science.
Enhancing Practical Learning Opportunities: Organising company site visits to leading AI research labs, fintech firms, and analytics teams, allowing members to gain firsthand exposure to how data science is applied in industry.
Strengthening Alumni Engagement in Data Science & AI: Creating a structured alumni network to connect members with past graduates working in data science roles, providing mentorship and job opportunities.

I am excited to leverage my experience to build strong industry ties, enhance corporate engagement, and create unique professional opportunities for our members.
