Hello everyone!

My name is Beanice, a first-year student studying Economics, Finance & Data Science, and I’m thrilled to be running for Head of Talent Development at ICDSS. As a data science student, I understand the immense value of hands-on experience, industry exposure, and peer collaboration in mastering this rapidly evolving field. I want to enhance our society’s ability to provide firsthand learning opportunities that will equip members with both technical skills and career-ready expertise.

My goals:

1. Introduce coding workshops covering Python, SQL, machine learning, and AI applications
2. Build an ICDSS resource hub featuring datasets, learning materials, and case studies.
3. Establish partnerships with tech firms and Imperial’s research labs to provide real-world datasets and prizes.
4. Connect members with Imperial alumni and data professionals for career guidance.

Data science isn’t just about numbers and models—it’s about solving real-world problems and pushing the boundaries of innovation. Imagine a society where every workshop leaves you with a tangible skill, every event connects you with industry leaders, and every project challenges you to think like a data scientist. That’s the ICDSS I want to create.
