Hey there! I’m Kai, a first-year Computing student (soon to be second-year), and I’m running for Head of Operations. I chose this role because I’m passionate about data science and machine learning and have experience in leadership positions where I managed operations and communication between departments. Additionally, I have been actively involved in secretarial work for student bodies, using systematic and organised approaches to ensure clear documentation. With these experiences, I believe I am well-suited for this role.
As Head of Operations, my priority is to ensure that the Data Science Society runs efficiently and effectively, making it easier for members to engage with events, resources, and opportunities. I will ensure that members have easy access to event details and learning materials from workshops through direct emails and newsletters. Additionally, I will work closely with other committee members to maintain clear and structured communication, ensuring that you can look forward to well-planned technical workshops, speaker sessions, and hackathons. Beyond that, I aim to strengthen collaborations with other societies and industry professionals, creating more opportunities for learning, networking, and career growth for our members.
