Sageya Piratheepan
Hi everyone, my name is Sageya (3rd year medic) and I would love to be Events Manager for Imperial Entrepreneurs next year!
I am passionate about the application of entrepreneurship in medicine and healthcare, and my interaction with many startups and keynote speakers at various conferences and fairs has given me insight into the drive and organisation behind successful ventures.
Current booming trends in AI and machine learning as well as personalised medicine with involvement in genomics, epigenetics and biomarker-based treatments leading to targeted therapies are key areas of development that many companies are capitalising on and I’d love to work with current start ups involved in this.
My experience organizing events with ICSM Vision Society and as part of the MedTech subcommittee has equipped me with the skills to plan impactful events that connect aspiring entrepreneurs with industry leaders. I’m eager to create opportunities for students to engage with innovative ideas and grow their entrepreneurial mindset.
As a previous committee member of ICSM Vision, an outreach society, I promoted and participated in educational events (MMI, UCAT, BMAT days), demonstrating my ability to engage with current and aspiring medical students through teaching and engaging campaigns.
My aims are to learn more about general trends in entrepreneurship and innovation and curate opportunities for networking, learning and mentoring alongside working with industry leaders and startups.
