Ethan Hsieh

I'm Ethan, a first-year Economics, Finance, and Data Science undergraduate. With experience in organizing events, leading student initiatives, and fostering collaboration, I'm eager to serve as your General Secretary to strengthen and unite our community.

My vision is to connect the vast Chinese community at Imperial College, forging a vibrant bridge between our rich cultural heritage and modern innovation. As General Secretary, I will:

• Support the leadership of our Presidents: Ensuring the smooth execution of initiatives while fostering collaboration across all roles within the society.
• Expand cultural events: Building on my experience organizing the Lantern Festival—where students connected through calligraphy, dumplings, and tangyuan—I will introduce more engaging activities to bring our community together and showcase Chinese traditions.
• Promote Chinese culture to the wider Imperial community: By curating immersive experiences, I will encourage international students to engage with and appreciate Chinese heritage, fostering deeper cross-cultural understanding.
• Enhance transparency and communication: By introducing structured catalogues and clear decision-making, I will ensure smooth coordination within the society.
• Encourage constructive dialogue: I will create opportunities for members to exchange ideas and contribute to our shared vision in a supportive environment.
• Launch mentorship program: Senior students will be paired with juniors or newcomers within the same department, providing academic and career guidance while strengthening connections.
