Hey everyone! I’m Minho, and I’m running for the First-Year Coordinator role.
A little about me – I was born in South Korea 🇰🇷 but have spent most of my life abroad in the UAE, Germany, and now the UK. Having moved between different countries, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to adjust to a new environment. When I first arrived at Imperial, I felt the same uncertainty, but thanks to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the ChemEng department and society, I was able to settle in smoothly.
One of the most valuable aspects of my transition was the Mums and Dads scheme, which connected me with second-year students who provided guidance, reassurance, and useful tips for navigating first year. I want to ensure next year’s freshers have an equally positive experience.
As First-Year Coordinator, I will:
- Enhance the Mums and Dads scheme by introducing fun incentives to encourage more frequent family meetups 👨👩👧👦.
- Organize engaging events where freshers can bond, make new friends, and feel part of the ChemEng community from day one 🤩.
Starting university is a big step, but with the right support, it can be an exciting and rewarding journey. I’d love the opportunity to make that happen—vote for me, and let’s make next year’s freshers feel at home!
