Hi, I'm Mariya, and I’d love to join the Ophthalmology Society committee for the upcoming academic year! As a student passionate about the field of Ophthalmology, I am keen to stand for General Member, a role which I believe makes the best use of my diverse skill set.
As Workshop Coordinator on the subcommittee for the Imperial Orthopaedics Society's first-ever national conference, I've demonstrated my organisational skills and ability to meet the expectations of my team. In this role, I've secured leading experts in the field to run the workshops and provide inspirational insights to our attendees.
During the summer of 2024, I volunteered with the WATCCH programme at Imperial, assisting disadvantaged students applying to medical school. Some of my responsibilities included leading small group activities and discussions.
As a member of the ICSM Paediatric Society's PlayTeam, I volunteer at St. Mary's Paediatric department. Despite my ever-growing uni workload, I'm still able to maintain my commitments.
I really enjoyed attending the various events held by the society this year, and I have so many ideas on how to take them to the next level to create truly eye-conic memories!
