We’re Janushana and Shiromi, applying for TBH president. We’ve been a part of TBH since first year, attending nearly every session and main event and have taken on key roles—Shiromi as School Liaison Officer, Treasurer and Secretary and Janushana as Publicity Officer, Secretary and Innovation Officer. Our experience extends to other societies like Paediatrics, GP, and LMAP. Our dedication even got us featured on Imperial’s Instagram!
As SLO, Shiromi organised visits and liaised with ChelWest for room bookings and got 3 schools for main event with 100+ children. As Innovation Officer Janushana led a subcommittee of 12 and coordinated collab and SEND visits, stickers and even booklets!
Together we also led a health and wellbeing stall at Great Exhibition Road Festival to 5,000+ children. We believe our combined experience on committee in a range of roles, from logistics to finances to creativity (including dealing with Union paperwork) will help us as presidents.
Our aims:
- Boost volunteer recruitment & retention through freshers' week promotions (including those outside of med), incentives and reward tiers for certain number of visits.
- Strengthen community with socials like teddy-bear cafés and crafting.
- Collaborate with societies, charities and external organisations for running of stations and creating resources such as workbooks and goodie bags.
- Host an exciting main event at ChelWest, offering an unique hospital-themed experience from getting hospital wristbands to learning all about investigations and treatments.
- Expand outreach beyond schools to educate more children by setting a stall in GERF.
