Arushi Maheshwari

Hi, I’m Arushi, a 2nd year medical student, and I’m excited to run as the fundraising officer for Oncology Society!

I am really interested in oncology and would love to contribute to the society. Over the last year, I have been part of the paediatrics conference sub committee, and held roles in two of the biggest cultural societies at Imperial- these positions have shown me the level of commitment, coordination and teamwork required to organise big events. I understand the importance of raising awareness and funds to successfully organize and host events, and am determined to helping the society in any way possible.

My past experiences have helped me gain valuable communication and networking skills which I will use to contact several relevant organisations and donors, to secure funding for our events. I am a good team worker and leader and will be able to effectively collaborate with the conference officers, publicity officers and other members of committee, to plan successful events! I understand the level of time-management, dedication and organisation required in a fundraising role, and believe I will be able to contribute well.
