I am running for Imperial Oncology Society President because oncology has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Cancer has fascinated me from a young age as a constantly evolving challenge that pushes the boundaries of medicine. I’ve always wanted to understand both the surgical and therapeutic frontiers of oncology, from novel biomarkers to intraperitoneal chemotherapy.
This passion has driven me to dive deep into research, working on genomic biomarkers predicting LNM in gastric cancer, exploring how chemotherapeutic agents propagate AMR, and applying radiomics to multiphasic HCC imaging - I want to expose all our members to research whether its through publication or presentation.
I’ve loved creating new opportunites for members, from being Head Boy at my school, working with a team to drive initiatives, to being involved in multiple conference committees and subcommittees like SORA. Having worked across different types of oncology research, I understand the impact each carries, from clinical to translational to computational - I’d love to link up SORA and Onco Soc, bridging academia and clinical exposure.
Already on the subcommittee, I’ve helped organize tutorials and the National Oncology Conference. I want to bring more CPD-accredited events and hands-on workshops. Whether it’s getting involved in research, networking with top oncologists, or developing surgical skills, there are opportunities everywhere if you know where to look. I want to create a community where getting involved in oncology isn’t just an aspiration but a reality, breaking records for engagement and making Onco Soc the strongest it’s ever been.
