Paediatrics: President

Hi everyone!

I’m Vanathi, and alongside Gaya, I am excited to run for your next Paediatrics Co-President!

As the Academic Officer for Paediatrics this year, I've had the privilege of working with both the core committee and my own Academic subcommittee. It's been a rewarding experience organizing the Year 5 Lecture series, bringing back the much-anticipated “Meet the Paediatricians”, and currently organizing the Year 5 Mock PACES which is to benefit almost a 100 Year 5s.

My experience has strengthened my ability to oversee multiple aspects of a committee - collaborating with members from Psych, GP, and Ob-Gyn societies on academic events has been an amazing opportunity to work with a diverse range of individuals.

Additionally, my experience as Sponsorship Officer (Femtech Society) and Marketing Officer (Doctorpreneurs) has given me strong skills in managing partnerships and communication.

Our Aims for next year:

Academics:

Increase subcommittee engagement in collaborative activities by appointing subcommittee in-charge roles

Conference:

Increase attendance of older years & junior doctors
Introduce hands on wet workshops

PlayTeam:

Improve storage efficiency
Implement regular check-ins with leaders

Community & Outreach:

Facilitate opportunities with organisations, charities and schools with a focused timeline

Sponsorship:

Maintain relationships throughout the academic year

General:

Standardise handover documents for all roles
Maintain regular 1-2-1s with committee
Increase Paediatric surgery presence in events
Host more socials to promote committee bonding!

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of Paedsoc and organize meaningful initiatives that benefit our student community. Vote Gaya and Vanathi for Paediatrics Society Presidents!
