Sharini Seyone
Hello, I’m Sharini and I’m grateful for the opportunity to run for the role of General Member in the Obs & Gynae Society.
Being part of the subcommittee this year has given me valuable insight into the specialty and the behind-the-scenes of running the society. As Head of Culture in International Tamil Society, I organised events that celebrated culture strengthening my organisational, leadership, and communication skills. My work experience in obstetrics and gynaecology has deepened my passion for the field, particularly in women’s health, leading me to complete an EPQ on this topic, which focused on the book: Sex Matters by Dr. Alyson J. McGregor.
I am dedicated and reliable and am confident in my ability to support the committee with publicity, organising journal club, and helping out with the conference to ensure everything runs smoothly. I love working in a team and taking initiative, and I would love to provide new innovative ideas to the society such as fundraising bake sales in collaboration with other societies like Friends of MSF to support charities such as Tommy’s who research about miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. I also would love to introduce a night where we talk about tackling common misconceptions in obstetrics and gynaecology, and discussing how Obs and gynae is presented in media (e.g., on TV shows).
I would love the chance to be part of this committee and I’d be truly grateful for your vote—thank you for your support!
