Subanu Suthakaran

Hey everyone! I’m Subanu, a third-year medic, and I’m running to be the Publicity Officer for ICOGS :))

I’ve been interested in O&G ever since I first started thinking about medicine, and after getting hands-on experience on placement and meeting the lovely ICOGS community this year, I’m even more excited about it! There’s so much to love about this specialty, and honestly, what could be more rewarding than empowering women and bringing new life into the world?

I’ve loved being part of ICOGS this year and just want to share how amazing it is with everyone! As Publicity Officer, I’d love to use my graphic design skills to make our events more visible, especially newer ones like Journal Club. I know lots of people in my cohort want to get involved but aren’t sure how, so I want to make it super easy and fun for all students to join and get a taste of what O&G is all about.

I’m reliable and organised, so you can count on me to get those posts out on time and keep everything running smoothly. I’m also hoping to bring our presence beyond uni by using platforms like TikTok to reach more people. I’ll make sure our posters and messages are eye-catching and memorable, so ICOGS stands out amongst all the announcements and everyone knows where to find info on our awesome events!
