Keshika Manivannan
Hi!
I am Keshika, a third-year medical student, and after an inspiring GP placement this year, I have gained a real appreciation for the crucial role of GPs in the community. I loved seeing the continuity of care and the unique relationships GPs build with their patients, which has made me even more excited to get involved with GP Soc as Vice Chair.
With experience as Head of Marketing for Tsoc, I’ve developed strong organisational and communication skills from promoting the society to managing events. I plan to use these skills to expand GP Soc’s reach, making it more engaging and accessible for students.
What I would bring to the role:
- Improving the Annual Conference - I already have speakers in mind and want to make the event more interactive by adding panel discussions, where GPs from different backgrounds debate key topics as well as speed networking to help students connect with doctors one-on-one.
- More Placement Support - Creating a ‘GP Survival Guide’, with tips from older years on making the most of placements, and pre-placement Q&A sessions to answer any worries beforehand.
- Engaging Social Media & Outreach - Expanding our presence with ‘Day in the Life’ reels, practical GP tips, and collaborations with other societies to highlight the versatility of general practice.
I would love the chance to help grow GP Soc and make it even more valuable for students.
Thank you for considering me for the role!
