Nischal Gurung

Hey, I’m Nischal, a second-year medical student with an interest in dermatology and I'm excited to be running for treasurer of DermSoc. My goal is to make DermSoc's events, resources and opportunities more accessible and financially sustainable for all students!

As treasurer, I would:

• Financial Sustainability and Growth:
  Build strong relationships with the ICSMSU and external organisations to secure funding to enhance the quality of events while being affordable. I also recognise the financial pressures many students face therefore I will try to work to minimise barriers to students accessing valuable educational and career opportunities
• Transparent and Effective Budget Management:
  I will adopt a well-structured and transparent approach when managing the society’s budget, ensuring all transactions are documented thoroughly and strategically allocating resources to keep the society financially stable while subsidising costs where possible
• Planning:
  I plan to strategically allocate funds to support academic events, conferences, and social events throughout the year to keep the society financially afloat while subsidising members as much as possible

My background working in diverse teams and retail has given me valuable experience managing financial transactions, and strengthened my teamwork and communication skills. My strong organisational skills, interest in dermatology and commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all members will enable me to enhance opportunities for all members and carry out the responsibilities required by this role.
