Pathology: President

Hello, I’m Lolly, a second-year medical student with a strong passion for pathology. As the foundation of every aspect of patient care, pathology plays a crucial role in diagnosing, preventing, and treating disease. What makes it such a fascinating and unique field is its ability to bridge science and medicine, revealing the mechanisms behind illness while shaping clinical decisions. With its broad range of specialties and opportunities, pathology offers an exciting and dynamic career path.

If elected for the 2025-26 academic year, I will aim to:

  • Run the London Undergraduate Pathology Conference with other London undergraduate pathology societies for the 2nd year
  • Continue running the Pathology Crash Course for 5th year students
  • Continue organising autopsy visits and pathology museum visits (eg. Gordon Museum and Imperial Pathology museum)
  • Start back up regularly posting the weekly SBAs series on Instagram
  • Celebrate National Pathology Week 2025, 3-9 November, with a series of events and resources (eg. networking, day in the life of a pathologist, workshops, pathology art exhibition)
  • Increase visibility and social media presence
  • Collaborate with other academic societies to highlight the real impact of pathology in patient care (eg. SurgSoc, HaemSoc, ImmunoSoc, Oncology Soc etc.)
  • Organise Gross Specimen Handling Sessions which will let students examine real pathological specimens (eg. tumors, diseased organs)

I am enthusiastic and committed to making pathology more engaging and accessible and I would be grateful for your vote!
