Acute Care Specialities : Treasurer

Hey everyone! I’m Dhruvit Modi, a third-year medic, and I’m excited to run for Treasurer of the Acute Care Society. With my finance experience and passion for acute medicine and anaesthetics, I’m eager to help the society grow and deliver valuable opportunities to students.

I’ve built a solid foundation in financial management through roles as Sponsorship Officer for iPRAS and Trauma Conference as well as Treasurer for iPRAS this year, where I created event budgets, managed finances with KCL for joint paediatric conference, handled ticket sales, and secured a £420 grant for the microsurgery conference. As sponsorship officer, I was able to secure sponsors from MDU, AMBOSS and organise a wound care workshop with Smith & Nephew. I also raised £2500 for families in India during COVID-19, gaining skills in budgeting and cash flow monitoring.

As Treasurer, I aim to:

  1. Proactively seek sponsors and funding opportunities, including applying for grants like the Harlington Fund and St Mary’s Development Fund.

  2. Support event organisers with budgeting and tracking expenses to ensure financial sustainability.

  3. Maintain accurate, transparent financial records to keep the committee informed.

  4. Streamline sponsorship and payment processes to reduce admin burden and secure funds faster.

  5. Help expand event offerings by leveraging funding to make conferences and workshops more accessible.

I’m committed to helping the Acute Care Society thrive and would be incredibly grateful for your vote — let’s make next year even better!

Thank you for reading my manifesto!
