Jason Dick
Hey everyone, Jason here, your current Rail and Transport Chair. I've been chairing this society for two years now, and I'm excited to announce that I'm looking to extend this to three years! Leading this society is my absolute pride and joy, and I would love to have the opportunity to continue sharing this with you for another year.
Before joining this society in first year, I never had a space to channel my passion for all things transport. Visiting train depots, racing around London on Tube Challenges, and volunteering on a heritage railway were all unforgettable experiences for me and has truly been the highlight of my time at university. The very next year I decided to step up to Chair of the ICRTS and made it my mission to ensure this society continues regularly providing these unforgettable experiences for all transport enthused students. This remains my mission.
Under my leadership over the past two years, the ICRTS committee has updated and improved our constitution, replaced and expanded our inventory of safety boots and hi-vis vests, launched our Alumni Network, achieved record membership, explored new corners of UK transport, formed ties with other university transport societies, and put on a record number of transport themed events. That's a pretty extensive list!
As Chair I promise to continue bringing improvements to our wonderful society and to continue regularly putting on exclusive and diverse transport themed events for all our members to enjoy.
That's all from me, thanks for stopping by!
