Devangi Vyas

Hi SORA family! I’m Devangi, a third year medic running for president this year. From a subcommittee member to Social and Networking Secretary, I’ve been all-in for two years - organising events, boosting engagement, and fostering collaboration. Now, I am eager to take our society even further. Here are my proposed initiatives:

• Elevate our flagship events – Expand the Young Researchers Conference (YRC) with a broader range of speakers, diverse panels, and interactive workshops to inspire and educate.
• Increase research opportunities – Strengthen connections between students and research projects, mentorships, and funding avenues to support academic growth.
• Enhance engagement – Introduce more dynamic networking events, collaborative initiatives, and interactive sessions to create an inclusive and stimulating environment.
• Develop our speaker series – Invite distinguished academics and industry professionals to share insights, sparking thought-provoking discussions.
• Improve accessibility – Launch a digital hub with essential resources, event updates, and research opportunities to keep members informed and engaged.

SORA has been a huge part of my university journey and I genuinely love the incredible community we’ve built. From our flagship events to the friendships formed along the way, SORA is more than just a society - it’s a family.
