Duygu Sarihan
Hello everyone!
I’m Duygu, a first-year Molecular Bioengineering student, who’s passionate about empowering and creating an inclusive community for women in STEM. I am thrilled to be running for IWD Officer for next year and hope I will have your support!
Before university, I was actively involved in a gender equality club in high school, where I worked on initiatives that promoted inclusivity and awareness. I also helped organize events for International Women’s Day that not only included women but everyone in our school. That experience furthered my passion for advocating for women in STEM and inspired me to take on this role.
As IWD Officer, my aim is to organize an impactful and inspiring IWD event that not only celebrates the achievements of women in STEM throughout history, but also looks ahead to discuss current challenges we still battle. I hope to organize an event inclusive of anyone who wants to join, expanding the reach of WSET. I believe collaboration is the main driving force for innovation and achievement. So, I am committed to ensuring International Women’s Day is a celebration that truly reflects the strength and ambition of women in STEM, while also fostering the collaborations of ones who are just starting out – like all of us Imperial students.
I would be honored to have your support to bring this vision to life and am looking forward to working with all of you!
All the best,
Duygu
