Sumayya Quddus
Hi everyone!
I’m Sumayya, a second-year Physics student, and I’m excited to run for Junior Treasurer of Women in SET.
The Women in SET society is an inspiring initiative that provides invaluable opportunities for students. I recently attended an insight day at a bank organised by the society and was thoroughly impressed by the event’s structure and impact. It gave me a deeper understanding of the banking industry and highlighted the society’s dedication to connecting young women with professionals across various fields. Their commitment to fostering curiosity and ambition in STEM is truly commendable.
As Junior Treasurer, I would ensure the smooth financial operations of the society by leveraging my strong organisational skills. I am meticulous when it comes to budgeting and financial planning, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently to maximise the opportunities available to members. I will confidently handle technical aspects of events and behind-the-scenes logistics to support the society’s initiatives seamlessly.
Beyond financial management, I am eager to contribute to the society’s mission by helping organise insightful events that inspire and empower women in STEM. My passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, combined with my practical skills, makes me an ideal candidate for this role.
I would love the opportunity to give back to a society that has already given me so much inspiration. I hope to bring my enthusiasm, dedication, and organisational skills to this role and contribute to another incredible year for Women in SET.
