Sandi Khit
Neuro: Speaker Series Coordinator
Hello! I’m Sandi. I’m excited to be running for the role of Speaker Series Coordinator.
My objectives:
- Curate a diverse range of speakers - from clinical practice, industry and research - to provide both educational insight and practical value. This would be through aiming to source speakers who would be open to networking with students, so that students not only gain new knowledge but also make new connections with neuro professionals who are happy to provide opportunities that would catapult students to the next step in their potential neuro careers.
- Cooperate with the publicity officer and secretary to scope out members' priorities in the speaker series before planning, to align the series more closely to the interests of the members.
- Incorporate Alumni Spotlight Talks where recent graduates pursuing neuroscience careers share their journeys, reflections on early career challenges, and advice for current students, and couple these with Q&A panels that promote more casual, relatable conversations between students and early-career professionals.
Why vote for me?
- Communication - Assisting in the management of our local Kumon centre as a lead Kumon tutor has given me experience of maintaining good relationships with long-term customers - parents and children - so I trust that I can liase well with potential speakers.
- Forward-thinking organisation - I’m well-practised in long-term planning as a private tutor who writes lesson schedules a year in advance, necessary for covering my students' curricula whilst addressing their weaknesses efficiently, which will be necessary for accommodating to members' interests while planning the series. Thank you for considering me!
