Oluchi Akosa

Hello everyone!

My name is Oluchi and I am running for the role of Recruitment Officer. I have volunteered with Vision extensively over my past two years here, helping out with Dr Me and multiple MMI and UCAT days, and I would love to help run the events. Vision is such an important society, relying on dedicated committee members and student volunteers wanting to help share medicine with the community.

As recruitment officer I’ll ensure that we always have enough people, especially for our big events like conferences, by liasing with the publicity team. I am very organised, with experience managing people and proficiency in excel so I’ll keep track of all the volunteers we have. I’ll ensure that volunteers are prepared for their roles by updating training documents, holding sessions and doing briefings on event days so everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities.

I hope to maintain an up-to-date volunteer database, making the process as smooth as possible to encourage further involvement of volunteers. I am quick to respond to emails so able to respond to answer any concerns and queries effectively and I have experience working as part of Psychiatry society’s subcommittee, helping to develop the workshop, honing my planning skills. I am a good team-worker and will work with the rest of committee to ensure that Vision is able to continue to provide opportunities for students, making an impact on campus and beyond!
