Vision: Senior Conference Chair

Hi everyone, my name is Shreya (current Recruitment Officer)

I joined Vision because its purpose of making Medicine accessible for students from Widening Access and Participation resonated with me. Having attended events like this myself as a prospective student, I fully understand the value that they have on a student’s confidence, impression and belief that medical school is a place for them.

Since 1st year I have been a Vision volunteer; I have seen the amazing things Vision has accomplished: MMA Day, Junior Doctor Conference, Dr Me. Project and more. As Recruitment Officer this year, I have had the privilege of helping at these events, reaching out and liaising with the committee to make these events successful. From this, I have grasped what makes these events a success to students. I believe I can apply this to future Vision events.

As an Imperial Student Ambassador (Recruitment and Outreach) and Creative Marketing Officer for Medical Humanities, I am confident in my ability to work responsibly with effective time management and organisation skills.

As Senior Conference Lead, I pledge to:

Strategically Organise - Plan early & effectively with the team to ensure smooth scheduling
Prioritise Wellbeing - Foster a sense of community in the team and ensuring volunteers and team members are looked after : )
Work Collaboratively - Coordinate tasks with the team, by communicating and delegating to successfuly meet our agendas
