Neuro: Treasurer

Hey! I’m Lair, a Brazilian-Argentinian Medical Biosciences student running to be treasurer of the Neuroscience Society.

I decided to run for this role as one of the most magical events I’ve had at Imperial was the brain dissection organized by the society - seeing a human brain and understanding what goes wrong under disease was truly the most valuable learning experience I ever had. My dream is to study the brain and neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s, and being a member of this society has fueled it dramatically.

Currently I am the academic representative for Medical Biosciences, where I have developed strong organizational and communication skills, bringing changes for the course. As treasurer, I will use these to run the society’s finances efficiently - I will ensure all money is tracked and used to create the best possible experiences for our members with high-quality events, unbelievable workshops, and memorable learning opportunities that hopefully inspire us for life.

I believe transparency is key, and will keep members informed about where and how the money is used through newsletter presentations and communications. I also hope to bring my strong math background to play, figuring out how to maximize event output to revitalize the society.

As your treasurer, I will tie math and creativity with dedication and communication, transforming the way the society uses its funds. If you share my dream of researching neuroscience and want a treasurer that’s committed, detail-oriented, and determined to make this society the best it can be, vote for me!
