Neuro: Co-President

Hello everyone, I’m Dharun and I’m running for co-president alongside Anirudh. I’m currently the Neurology Lead at Neuroscience Society, whereby having volunteered at the Meeting of the Minds conference, I gained valuable insight into the society's operations. I'm also a neuroscience lecturer at Meded, allowing me to share my passion with younger students. My interest in neuroscience began with my EPQ, exploring the genetic and environmental factors influencing brain regions associated with IQ. Organizing Megamaalai Ball, with over 700 attendees, provided me with crucial leadership experience, teaching me to delegate, stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly when necessary.

We are thrilled to announce our candidacy for Neuroscience Society Co-Presidents. Our initiatives include:

  1. Networking Fairs: Providing connections between clinical professionals and aspirational members of the society, for opportunities such as mentorship, shadowing and research.
  2. Neurosurgical workshop day: Introducing unique workshops such as a glioblastoma resection VR simulator and ‘Rowena simulator models.’
  3. Neuroimaging Skills Day: With increasing research on machine learning, it would be great to dive into the nuances of neuroimaging and how AI algorithms will be shaping brain health.
  4. NeuroResearch Insight Day: This event will offer a chance to explore neuroscience research, with experts sharing insights into high-quality research processes.

We are also committed to ensuring the continued success of Meeting of the Minds and other events. With our passion, creativity and leadership experience, we would be honoured to lead this society, and with your help take it to greater heights.

Thank you for your consideration
