Hi everyone! I’m Huong, a first-year biotechnologist, and I’m running to be your Social Secretary! My goal is to bond our wonderful WSET members, to create opportunities for you to connect with new people, and to empower womanhood.
I believe this could be best done by organising frequent social events with discounts and free food (but of course, within our budget):
- Karaoke night: This can never go wrong. Maybe you could even bond through your favourite songs or artists. If you want more laughter and bonding, how about a blind karaoke session?
- Bar nights: I understand that a day at Imperial could be long and stressful. Who doesn’t want to have a girl’s night to relieve all the stress? Let’s hit the Union Bar with the girls.
- Bracelet-making workshop: A more relaxing option for our introverted girlies? Let’s strengthen our friendships with a chill bracelet-making session! Chat with other people, make a cute bracelet for yourself or exchange it with your friends.
- Our traditions: ice skating, collaborations ...
To turn all these ideas into reality, I promise I will:
- Plan activities and finish at least a week beforehand.
- Work with other teams to develop a reasonable plan and announce events to you 1-2 weeks ahead.
- Reach out to other societies for collaboration events.
- Talk to you. I will make feedback forms throughout the year to gather your thoughts and brilliant suggestions for our socials.
