Rama Aowidah

Hi, I’m Rama! I’m a 4th year Medic and I’m running to be your Projects and Volunteering Officer!

For the past 2 years running I have been a national Director of Publicity at Youth Med Aid, a global health organisation focused on the donation of excess medical goods and on educating on sustainability. In this role, I have collaborated with London Model Who, other global health committees such as SfGH at UCL, Warrick, St George’s and MSF at the equivalent universities. I thus have 2 years of experience leading a team of officers, liaising with other similar committees on shared projects and have unique insight into the workings of a national level organisation.

On top of this, I have been Chair of an RHSE based volunteering organisation at Imperial for the past year, where we have sent volunteers to schools all around London as well as educated others on our work at the CHIVA conference and will continue this at the Great Exhibition Road Festival this June. Thus, I am uniquely experienced in leading community volunteering schemes and would be excited to bring my knowledge to SfGH in collaborating with the BSc GH team and PCPH.

My goals for SfGH would be to drive meaningful projects, collaborate with similarly aligned organisations, and to expand our volunteering scheme so we can make as much of an impact as possible.
