Avanie Joshi

Hello! I'm Avanie, and I'm running to be Funkology's General Commitee for Logistics next year! Through this role, I hope to contribute towards sustaining the amazing atmosphere we have here, and give back to the society that has been such an integral part of my university experience.

Funkology has been a safe and encouraging space for me to learn and grow as a dancer, and the friends I've made here are some of the most fun and supportive people I know. In Funk's weekly classes, you can see dancers of all backgrounds and experience levels hyping each other up and enjoying themselves, which is such a precious sight. As General Committee, I hope to contribute to the work behind the scenes that keeps these classes running - these sessions that so many people look forward to attending week after week.

My time as a club leader in secondary (middle) school has given me much experience in logistics work, from arranging venues to liasing with external coaches for club sessions, and I believe many of the skills I've developed are transferrable and will make me a responsible and reliable General Committee member. As a current member of FYP, I also have a deep passion for dance and I am committed to spreading this passion with others!

To Funkology, thank you for being a community where I can be myself and explore my passion for dance. I look forward to being a part of creating this community next year!
