Hi, I am Ashley Park, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student, and I’m running for Social Events Coordinator. Have you ever had moments when you feel like you want to have some fun university life, but you don’t know how to enjoy it or feel a bit lost, and you have no one to turn to? Vote for me, and I’ll get the solutions ready for you! Through this role, I aim to make the bioengineering department a more inclusive and vibrant environment, where everyone, from all courses and years, feels connected and comfortable.
Key plans:
- Organize regular social sports events: for example, badminton and ping-pong, creating casual and fun opportunities to connect.
- Maximize RSM Experiences: movie nights in the lecture hall, 'Tea-Time' open to all staff and students, and board game/computer game sessions.
- Monthly Fun Competitions: launch mini monthly competitions, such as cultural cooking challenges, the best BioEng meme competition, and themed invention challenges, adding a playful element to our department.
- Strengthen the bond within the department: continue organizing occasions to keep up with the ‘BioEng Family’, and celebrate diverse cultural events such as Halloween, Christmas, Diwali, Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, etc.
In the past, I have several experiences leading a club or being a class president, which developed my leadership, organization, and communication skills. I am a very active, attentive, and responsible person who is ready to work with a team to make a welcoming and pleasant department.
