Hey everyone, my name is Sai, and I’m running to be your Charity and Public Outreach Officer for next year. When I joined Imperial as a fresher, I saw Indian Soc as just Bollywood club nights and Garbas—not that I didn’t enjoy them. But learning about the society’s charitable contributions gave me a new perspective on this community.
Although I’ve never properly lived in India, I was born there and never missed an annual trip. Going back wasn’t just about family dinners and nostalgia—it was an eye-opener to the societal issues people face daily. Discovering Indian Soc’s long history of charitable work fueled my passion to run for this role.
As president of MEDISAID, a high school project I founded to provide healthcare supplies and education to a local Indonesian community, I gained hands-on experience in fundraising, donations, and managing logistics for workshops and outreach programs. Alongside this, volunteering at my aunt’s school for the underprivileged in Chennai gave me valuable experience both in the field and behind the scenes.
As your Charity Officer, I pledge to identify causes that Indian Soc, as a collective, believes are critical across India. Using my existing connections and forging new ones, I hope to drive meaninful change by finding appropriate sponsors in order to create a positive impact.
A vote for me is a vote for my mission and a vote to better the motherland.
