Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières: Events Coordinator

Hi, my name is Aishah and I’m a second-year medical student running for Events Coordinator for Friends of MSF!

I am passionate about supporting Médecins Sans Frontières and raising awareness of the critical work they do globally. The opportunity to contribute to MSF’s mission is something I am thrilled about, and I believe I can help enhance the society’s impact through this role.

I have experience in organizing events, most notably as the Specialist Foundation Programme Lead for SORA, where I successfully coordinated the “Introduction to the SFP 2024” talk. This experience helped me develop skills in event planning, logistics, and networking with high profile individuals. Additionally, I’ve assisted in multiple conferences in societies (NeuroSoc, EndoSoc) as Secretary, where I gained insight into effective communication and team coordination, both of which are essential for this role.

After attending multiple Friends of MSF events, I think the society has really blossomed in the past few years and I would love to help it flourish further by organising events as part of the committee. My goal is to not only raise awareness for MSF but also engage our members and the wider community. Whether it’s informative talks or fun social collaborations with other societies, I want to make these activities accessible, informative, and interesting.

I’d love the opportunity to work with the team and help drive the society’s mission forward, and I would massively appreciate your vote!

Thank you!
