Le Xi Tan
Hi everyone!
I’m Le Xi, a second-year chemical engineering student, and I’m excited to run for Vice President of WSET. I’m passionate about building a strong, supportive community of young women in science, engineering, and technology, and I believe WSET plays a crucial role in empowering us to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in these fields.
If I had the opportunity to be elected for the Vice President of WSET, I aim to strengthen three key initiatives:
1. CV Workshops & Career Preparation – I plan to organise tailored workshops on CV writing, cover letters, and interview preparation, featuring industry professionals and recruiters to provide practical insights. Additionally, I plan to introduce peer review sessions where members can receive constructive feedback on their applications.
2. Networking with Industry Leaders – I plan to establish stronger connections with companies across various STEM fields by organising panel discussions, industry insight sessions, allowing members to explore career paths, gain mentorship opportunities, and build professional relationships.
3. Expanding Hands-on Professional Experiences – I plan to advocate for more internship and shadowing opportunities by collaborating with companies and alumni, providing members with valuable real-world experience to boost their confidence and employability.
My leadership experience includes serving as the Welfare Officer for the Malaysian Society and being part of the Events Subcommittee for the ChemEng Society. I’m confident that my skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and event organisation will enable me to make a meaningful contribution to WSET!
I’d love your support—thank you for reading! 😊
