Hi everyone!

I’m Yuxin, a second-year chemistry student and I’m excited to be running for WSET’s Liaisons Officer!

I was really impressed by WSET’s flagship Annual Industry Networking Event, with its wide range of sponsors (and the best food I’ve seen at an Imperial networking event), and I want to contribute to bridging women at Imperial with outstanding professionals in STEM.

As someone who actively engages with professionals and firms through LinkedIn, networking events, and office visits, I am committed to leveraging my experience to maintain current relationships with our amazing sponsors while securing more valuable partnerships for WSET.

As Liaisons officer, I am ready to:

1. Maintain strong relationships with current sponsors by providing regular updates and ensuring high engagement at firm-sponsored events
2. Expand our sponsorship network by proactively securing more sponsors for the International Women’s Day Formal Dinner and Annual Industry Networking Event
3. Gather consistent feedback
   1. From members: Identify preferred firms and sectors, then actively engage with those companies
   2. From sponsors: Improve their experience at WSET’s flagship events and engagement sessions to better align with their goals
4. Enhance firm engagement: by developing personalized sponsorship proposals that align with companies’ recruitment and diversity goals, strengthening long-term relationships
5. Negotiate more meaningful sponsorship benefits:
   • exclusive networking events with sponsors
   • mentorship programs connecting members with industry professionals
   • priority recruitment access for Imperial students

I’m passionate about building strong industry connections and ensuring WSET continues to provide valuable career opportunities for its members.
