My name's Sevin, a 1st-year JMC student. Though I'm new to DoCSoc, my experiences as an Organiser for IC Hack '25, where I worked within the Sponsorship division; in previous sponsorship work; and in speaking and writing for a few years now give me the belief that I would enjoy this role, and give it my best.
To start, fulfilling the main responsibilites - maintaining sponsor relations through regular contact, organising engagement events, handling event logistics - is key, but what I would like to convey is that if elected, I hope to pursue expanding the role as well.
Current Plans:
- DoCSoc Start-Up Support System: Maintaining a support system for start-ups that originate within DoCSoc. This may include:
- Developing a system to match founders and alumni, where support can be provided through advisory, investment, or direct collaboration. This also tackles DoCSoc's current goal of increased alumni contact.
- Sponsoring initial funding for start-ups, given excesses within DoCSoc.
- Developing a centralised platform for DoCSoc start-ups to manage the above.
- Multiple Potential Sponsors: As President of Imperial's IBM Z Chapter, I liaise regularly with the Head of IBM Z Europe. Through this, I have direct communication with companies employing mainframes, which I hope to make use of:
- IBM
- Coursera
- DELL
- Broadcom
- Infosys
- ...
- Experience:
- Organiser for IC Hack '25
- Handled onboarding for Tomoro.ai
- Aided with sponsor contract generation
- Secured sponsorship from Handelsbanken for the 2024 Greenpower Challenge
- +2 local companies as Head of Marketing
- Communication-focused extracurriculars: House Captain, MUN, 2 Books Published, Newspaper Articles, Musicals.
