Samarth Mishra
Hello, my name is Samarth Mishra. I am a first year biomedical engineering student.
I have played ultimate (indoors) at the U14 level and now at the university level (both in and outdoors).
I am running for open captain because my main priority as a potential member of the committee would be to create an environment where individuals can grow as much as possible, and to lead teams which do well competitively. I find myself to be generally ambitious and tend to be disappointed in myself whenever I misplay at all. I will strive to remain composed at all times going forward.
Going into next year, we will obviously be losing many talented players from the upper years so a large amount of effort will need to go into recruiting new players and improving the confidence of the rookies we gained this year. Despite our pool of male matching players being depleted, I believe DD has the genuine potential to be an extremely competitive division 1 team in the 2025/2026 season.
One of the more obvious duties of a captain is to run training sessions. One of the few advantages of a captain being relatively inexperienced, as I am, is that less will be taken for granted; for example, for next year's mens 1 team I do not think it is a given that a 3-person weave will be our best structure and am eager to test alternatives.
I have many new ideas for training sessions going forward.
Thank You!
