Eda Bakay
Hello, I am Eda and I study Biological Sciences. From the day I have arrived, I felt the warm embrace of this committee, reminding me of our strength to bond in a different country while following Atatürk’s path and taking pride in us—the Turkish youth.
While studying at such a technical university, I remember his words: “A nation deprived of art has lost one of its vital lifelines.” Beyond my passion for science, I also want to contribute to this committee with my artistic side and increase our engagement with the arts. Alongside the excitemet of taking part of organizing the ongoing events like national holiday celebrations and rakı nights, I hope to introduce new activities—such as Turkish live music nights with people in this committee who, like me, is passionate for singing, playing an instrument, or simply enjoying the tunes of our country. Additionally, I would love to take part in organizing game nights between universities and Turkish movie nights, creating more opportunities for us to connect.
As someone who finds the strength to move on through social activities, I immediately joined dance, music, and drama courses in London and sought to connect with friends from other universities in this city through social events. With this same passion, I am eager to take on the role of Social Secretary- you can count on me to keep the social side of things alive in this committee, where everyone’s voice is heard and respected.
