Obstetrics & Gynaecology: President

Hi everyone! My name is Abirame, and I would love to be President of ICOGS.

I believe that the skills and experiences I have gained over the past few years will equip me well to lead this society effectively.

Most recently, I was Vice-President of the International Tamil Society, where I led a committee in organising events throughout the year, including an event at ExCeL London for an audience of 1,500+ people. This experience not only strengthened my leadership and decision-making skills but also gave me a solid understanding of how to successfully run a society. I believe these skills would be highly transferable to the role of President of ICOGS.

I have also been part of several committees, taking on different roles that have developed my teamwork and problem-solving abilities. As Secretary, I was responsible for taking minutes, organising the society’s calendar, and ensuring everything ran smoothly—demonstrating strong time management and communication skills.

Additionally, I was part of the sub-committee that organised the ICOGS Conference this year, which gave me valuable insight into how both the society and its major events are run.

As President, I hope to build upon the society’s current activities while expanding its reach and impact. I aim to continue the Journal Club, which has been run so successfully, and explore collaborations with other O&G societies to create new learning and networking opportunities.

I am passionate about the growth and success of ICOGS, and would be honoured to lead the society over the next year!
