Sophie Jones

Hi everyone! I’m Sophie and I’m a fourth year medic currently intercalating in Global Health. I’m hoping to be a GP in the future and am thinking of combining this with a bit of public health too as I’ve really enjoyed my BSc.

I’m running for treasurer as I’d love to get involved with the running of GPPH society and its amazing activities and events. I think I would be well-suited to the position of treasurer because I’m very organised and have experience working as a commercial assistant for a large company over the past three summers. This role has made me pretty proficient at working with spreadsheets (As nerdy as that sounds!), making me a good candidate for managing the society’s finances.

I also had to create and submit pay sheets for events I ran whilst serving as an officer cadet in the University of London Air Squadron. This role also gave me valuable teamwork skills which I know will be very important as a committee member.
